Dr Jeyasushma A/P Veeriah

Jeyasushma A/P Veeriah is a lecturer in the Journalism Programme of Xiamen University Malaysia where she teaches a variety of courses, from Basic News Writing and Advanced News Writing to Interview for Journalists, Commentary Writing and others. She has been in the media industry for about two decades. Having worked for the New Straits Times Press, she covered all areas of reporting, from politics to crime and court stories to feature articles and interviews. Her current research interests focus on fake news and information literacy. Outside of academia, she continues to work as a freelance writer – whenever she finds the time.
